Soon after the City of Austin issued a city-wide Boil Water Notice, TSD’s Superintendent directed staff, teachers and students to not drink from water fountains or faucets.
TSD’s Ranger Press made signs that were then placed around campus of the alert. The school’s cafeteria have also been stocked with bottled water to get through the day.
The city-wide boil water notice comes as recent flood waters flowing into the city’s water supply contains high levels of debris, silt, and mud.
According to the notice, there is no timeframe on when this directive will end–rain is expected for this week. TSD will be monitoring the situation closely.
