NTPA Deaf Theatre Announces Auditions for The Wizard of Oz

Deaf and hearing adults and youth are invited to join us for our next NTPA Deaf Theatre Production, The Wizard of Oz! No experience necessary.

About NTPA Deaf Theatre: 

Both Deaf and hearing actors are needed and encouraged to join us for these upcoming programs with an innovative method of combining language to tell stories on stage. Deaf and hearing actors will work together to portray characters in the production with a performance that will be enjoyed by Deaf and hearing audiences alike.

Show Synopsis:

We’re off to see the wizard! This beloved tale, in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home, has entertained audiences for generations.

  • Director: Daymond Sands
  • Auditioning: youth and adults – we are looking for both Deaf and hearing actors
  • Tuition: $99 for adults, $200 for under 18 (scholarships available)
  • Auditions: Friday, May 17, 2024 5:00-8:00 PM.
  • Audition Requirements: Prepare and memorize a one minute monologue in either ASL or English
  • Rehearsals: Sundays, 1:00-4:00 PM, starting May 26, 2024.
  • Rehearsal Location: Willow Bend Center of the Arts (Plano)
  • Performances: August 2-4, 2024 at Willow Bend Center of the Arts, Starcatchers Black Box
